I have been crushing on black walls for a couple of years now. Our house came equipped with brass hardware everywhere and to make it all “make sense” and glam up the dated finish, I loved the thought of mixing it with black. Unfortunately, I have trouble envisioning our SoCal Spanish with bright sunny rooms done in black walls. On a recent “trip” to HOUZZ, I found an awesome collection of black walls. Alas…nothing to revise my opinion about putting black on my Spanish…what do you think?
BLACK – Serious, conventional, conservative or worldly, sophisticated, and a cut above everyone else!
Love the BOLD look of this black and white. A little glam on the chandy and we’re good to go!

The softening mix of the neutral gray and personalized art in this space keeps if from being harsh or cold feeling.

Gotta love a little pink with black. And that textured wallpaper?? Knock out!

SO nice and bright with the pot lights and full sized windows and views.

Probably my favorite on the page…I love the natural elements juxtaposed with the strong black and gold statements.
(how was that for wordy decorator speak???)

I’ve loved this one since the first time I saw it…probably because I love crisp, white molding. The traditional girl in me.

And this gorgeous room: one black wall, modern furniture and super traditional/classical art on the wall.
OH and let’s not forget those absolutely smashing chandeliers. A PAIR no less!
