Naked Windows?
Windows are the eyes to our home.  Window coverings add beauty, style and softness to our rooms.  They also provide privacy, thermal insulation and UV protection for our valuable furnishings and floorings.

There are always some spaces where a completely open window is appropriate...especially in a strictly contemporary space.  Even there, however privacy is an issue.

If you have "naked windows" call for a complimentary appointment to see how I can help you with a design plan to dress your windows and warm your room.
A master bedroom before our appointment....and after with the addition of silk swags and side panels mounted on a valance. We also painted and added new fabrics and color to the bedding ensemble to coordinate with the windows....and a close up of the new bedding. Not a great photo, but great drapery! These are made of two colors of Duipioni silk and hung a custom iron rod, lined and inner lined for truly luxurious drapery.Even bathrooms need a little love! A simple faux roman valance is a great solution in the bath as it's high enough to not interfere and suffer water damage, but add softness in a room that has little. This is a rendering from a teenage girls bedroom where the drapery was used to create a window seat style bed AND cover the treasures only a teenager can gather (photo of finished room coming soon!)Look left for the 'before' and 'right' for the after. Even the kitchen nook was treated to simple treatment. These draperies are a heavy reversible chenille and trimmed in a great Italian brocade repeated in the kitchen....and a closeup of the chenille panels.A close up of another luxurious treatment. Silk shantug on top with a fun silk gingham woven with chenille threads at the base and finished with fringe. This was fun little one room project on a limited budget. Normally I love to do custom window treatments. In this room, the client had some panels she liked but they didn't fill the window. We filled in and it made the room glow!Sometimes the view is great and privacy is not an issue. In this space we used a simple scroll above the window to give a quick finished look. This was another budget room re-do - ReArrange IT! I brought in some fabric that coordinated, a couple of inexpensive purchased rods and tassels. Voila! 10 minutes to dressed windows!
